MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

_The role of the teacher is to provide the best possible educational support and duty of care for each student in the light of the values and objectives of Just.Childhood. This includes the following tasks and responsibilities:

_The Teacher has primary responsibility for the overall welfare of the children in their care

_Adhere to the Principles of Teaching and Learning as indicated by the Waldorf curriculum

_Promote an environment of dynamic, active and genuine learning

_Employ a variety of effective teaching strategies.

_Differentiate the curriculum to ensure the needs of all individuals in their classes are met

_Give adequate time to lesson planning and organization

_Be aware of course requirements and their directions

_Reflect on the effectiveness of their teaching

_Keep accurate records of students’ attendance, progress and assessment

_Monitor each student and inform students of their progress

_Maintain good communications with parents concerning the progress of their child

_Attend Parent/Student/Teacher interviews

_Submit lesson plans and records to Program Manager, as required
